Table rules

• Six decks dealt from a shoe, reshuffled at the cut card.
• Dealer stands on all 17s, including soft 17, which is the better rule for players.
• Blackjack pays 3 to 2.
• Double on any first two cards.
• The dealer checks for blackjack when showing an ace or a ten.
• Splitting isn’t offered at this table yet.

Side bets

Perfect Pairs pays on your first two cards: a perfect pair (same suit) 25 to 1, a coloured pair 12 to 1 and a mixed pair 6 to 1. 21+3 makes a three-card poker hand from your two cards and the dealer’s up card: suited trips 100 to 1, straight flush 40 to 1, three of a kind 30 to 1, straight 10 to 1, flush 5 to 1.

How to play blackjack

You and the dealer each get two cards; one of the dealer’s is face down. Number cards count their value, picture cards count 10 and an ace counts 1 or 11. Get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Hit to take a card, stand to stop, or double your bet for exactly one more card. Go over 21 and you bust. The dealer then plays by fixed rules: hit until 17, stand on 17 or more.

Learn as you play

Turn on Hints at the table and the best move for your hand lights up, following the basic strategy chart for these exact rules. If you go against it, you’ll get a gentle nudge.

Everyone on the same hand

It’s one table for the whole site. Place a bet and you’re dealt in on the next hand with everyone else. If you’re the only one there, the hand starts three seconds after you bet.
